Foundations of Music: A Beginner’s Journey (Ages 6-8)
Foundations of Music is the perfect starting point for absolute beginners eager to explore music. This engaging class provides a general music education and hands-on exposure to piano, drums, and ukulele/guitar. Students will learn basic musical concepts like beat, rhythm, melody, and harmony through fun activities, including music circles, body percussion, hand and bucket drumming, and musical games.
Class Details:
- Class Time: Tuesday or Wednesday, 3:30 - 4:15 PM
- Dates: January 7 - March 26 (no group classes the week of February 24)
- Enrollment: Open to all first-time musicians within the age range
- Focus: Introduction to piano (3 weeks), drums (3 weeks), and ukulele/guitar (3 weeks)
Final Performance:
In the final two weeks, students will prepare a short repertoire to perform for parents.
Prerequisites:
No prior experience is required.
Private Lessons:
A 30-minute private lesson is encouraged but not required.
Next Steps:
After completing this class, students will graduate to the Foundations Ensemble.
Pricing:
$37.50/week, billed monthly. Receive a 10% discount if the full season is paid upfront.

Participation in this class requires a commitment to the full season. Consistency is essential for making progress and fully benefiting from the program.
